About The Teacher
I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year. I thought you might like to know a little more about me.
I am a graduate of Messiah College in Grantham Pennsylvania with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have post graduate credits from Millersville University.
My teaching career started in Mechanicsburg School District shortly after I graduated from College. I was a second grade teacher for three years and a kindergarten teacher for the following three years. When I had my first child in 1998 I was very fortunate to be able to stay home with him. It was difficult to leave the teaching position that I loved, but I will forever be thankful for my time at home when my children were little. I was blessed with a daughter in 2000 and continued to stay at home until 2007. I returned to teaching as a long term substitute in First Grade at Northern Elementary. I am currently so pleased to be back as a kindergarten teacher for my 11th year.
I am the High School Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Northern and the children in my kindergarten class will have an opportunity in the winter to have some collaborative activities with my high school team. We will be pen pals as well as complete a service project together.
I live in Dillsburg with my husband, two children, a cat and a very energetic golden retriever.
